Hurricane Irene was supposed to blast into the Boston area today, but it was more of a whisper than a roar. Other parts of the country got nailed (hope everyone's ok!), but we emerged relatively unscathed. It did lend a certain excitement to the day though, sort of a night before a possible snow day school might be canceled (!) kind of thing.
I've got almost all of the writing done for the record (still no title yet), but still want a couple more to work on in the studio. Kimon Kirk (Session Americana, Amy Correia, Aimee Mann, and others) has signed on to play bass and hopefully do some singing. We're nailing down the studio dates, and trying to work on husband Lyle's schedule to play some lead guitar on the thing. I love his playing (just one of the reasons I married him), and he'll be in the midst of a big long tour with Ryan Montbleau, so we just have to get him home for a couple of days so he can put his touch on the album.
